PRODUCTION POSSIBILITIES
FEAL has installed three modern lines for pressing of Aluminium profiles. Lines vary in strength of the installed presses. Dimensions of the cross-sectional profile, and its required mechanical properties, define the material-alloy, tool for pressing and line on which the profile will be made.

The production is realized in four technologically mutual units. FEAL has got a modern profiles pressing plant. The pressing takes place at the three presses with the installed power of 1630 t, 1800 t and 2500 t. The top quality of the product is guaranted both by the most sophisticated equipment and by the expertly trained staff handling it.
THE LOG
As the raw entry material we use the aluminum logs, diameter 178 and 203 mm, cast out of primary aluminum alloy of the family 6000 with the guaranteed chemical composure. The quality of the raw material guarantees the high quality of the final product.
THE PRODUCTION CYCLE OF PRESSING OUT
The pressing out production cycle can be divided into several stages taking place at various machines, and all together constituting a single press line.
WARMING UP FURNACE
The inside of the furnace for warming up the logs is coated with a special material produced so as to keep the interior temperature and isolate the interior from the outward surroundings. The logs warming up stove is divided into several zones, each of which can be programmed for different temperatures.
The punctuality of temperatures adjusting by the zones is controlled by thermo pairs that perodically control the temperatures adjusted and compare them to the temperatures proposed at the pressing out.
CUTTING OFF THE LOGS
In preparation of the logs for pressing, so called hot shear is used, due to its numerous advantages in relation to the traditional log cutting off systems:
- shorter time of cutting, 25 - 35 s, in relation to two minutes with the common way of cutting, no waste at sawing;
- better usage of the material, since it is possible to make various adjustments of the cutting lengths, which is especially relevant at the unplanned tool changes, and through the usage of this system all the log length is used.
TOOLS
The profile appearence depends on the tool through which it is pressed, and in the FEAL group of Factories there are over 5000 various tools.
PRESSING
The profile pressed comes out onto the exit desk where it is accepted by the system of pullers, enabling through its construction a continual conducting of the profiles along the exit desk and the cooling desk. The system for the intensive cooling of the profiles is located under and above the exit desk and along the transport desk of a double length, and its basic purpose is cooling the profiles by a directed air stream with the possibility of regulating the cooling intensity and achieving an optimal cooling degree for various aluminum alloys. If a higher degree of aluminum profiles cooling is required, the cooling with water is used, or the so called water wave, where the significantly greater speeds of cooling are acquired, which is of a particular significance at pressing the harder alloys. The cooling desk is divided into several temperature zones and enables the lateral moving of the profiles pressed in regard to the desk axes by the system of the endless belt, which eliminates the possibility of mechanical damages to the profiles in relation to the traditional walking beam manner of moving. The mechanical equation of the profiles is achieved at the tensioner, which is completely automatised and handled by a single operator with the aid of video monitoring.
PROFILES CUTTING AND ASSORTING
After tensioning the profiles are cut to the required dimension (the automatic cutting up to he lengths of 8 meters) and come to the automatic sorter of the profiles, which enable sorting of the profiles into the baskets without the assistance of the physical work, whereupon the possibility of eventual damage to the profiles due to handling is excluded. After sorting, the transport system moves the baskets to the automatic baskets sorter which puts up to four baskets on the top of each other and transports them to the furnace for the heat-treat of the profiles.
PROFILES HEAT-TREAT
In order to acquire the wanted physical-mechanical properties of the profiles, after the sorting they go to the furnace for artificial aging, where they are kept for 6 hours at the temperature of 180 0C. After the heat treatment profiles are sent to the automatic basket divider and to the raw profiles storage.
